The authors, in the elaboration of the topic, analyze the Educational plan for children with various developmental disabilities included in the Special education school ,,Zlatan Sremec’’ in Osijek, in the period from 1963 to 1991. Through preserved archival material stored in the archives of the Center for Education Ivan Štark in Osijek, the authors follow this population through the program of Physical education and through creative activities that stand out as the basis for enriching the social life and leisure of students at school. Based on involvement in creative activities in smaller groups (Singing and instrumental Cultural-artistic society, Book Friends Club, Drama and Recitation Section, Tapestry, Photo Section, etc.) and physical activities (sections of football, handball, table tennis, archery and dodgeball), authors, in this paper, emphasize the importance of the mentioned activities that are expressed through presentations and public performances for successful foundations of the inclusion of children with different developmental disabilities in active social life and work of the social community. All of the above is based on the implementation of the Educational plan. In conclusion, the authors analyze how much physical activities helped children with developmental disabilities in realizing their developmental potential and in alleviating developmental difficulties caused by psychophysical damage, as well as how creative activities contributed to training for the application of acquired knowledge in everyday life.
