Prispevek obravnava osnovne značilnosti zahodnoevropskega, bizantinskega in seldžuškega vojaškega sistema v času prve križarske vojne s poudarkom na njihovem izvoru, oborožitvi, taktiki in strategiji ter praktični problematiki. Kaže na pomembne razlike v vojaških tradicijah posameznih regij, pa tudi na določene podobnosti in prepletanje prvin. Razlogov za uspeh prve križarske vojne ne gre iskati le v političnih dejavnikih, saj so njeno usodo odločili izidi vojaških spopadov.

      • Investigated are basic characteristics, origins, strategies, armament, and military tactics of West European, Byzantine, and Seljuk armies that fought in the First Crusade. The article examines certain similarities, important differences in their military traditions, and interconnection of some elements. More than political factors, the outcomes of battles represent the principal reasons for the success of the First Crusade.
      • Prispevek obravnava osnovne značilnosti zahodnoevropskega, bizantinskega in seldžuškega vojaškega sistema v času prve križarske vojne s poudarkom na njihovem izvoru, oborožitvi, taktiki in strategiji ter praktični problematiki.
