This paper describes several Slovene testaments kept by the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia.
The testament of baroness Barbara Kacijanar from 1671, written in her own hand, is the oldest and
most prominent among them. Baroness was a daughter of Gabriel Križanič, owner of Pusti Gradec
and Trebnje estates. She was first married to Matej Dorotič. Her second husband was Janez Boltežar
Purgstall. Lastly, in 1632, she married Jurij Boltežar Kacijanar, the baron of Begunje. Since 1652
she owned the Preddvor estate. In her testament, she amply rewarded the Jesuit College in Ljubljana.
She died in 1673 at the age of 83. This paper also includes a Slovene testamentfrom 1685, written by
Gregor Cervie, a prelatefrom Cerknica, and several testaments ofserfsfrom the 18th century.
