The subject of this contribution is the tailor Aloysius Paulin, his dressmaking trade and the time in
which he lived and worked. Very few material remains of his activity have been preserved to the
present day; by the side of a few publicity advertisements in the local newspapers, and some material
from the Historical Archives of Ljubljana, a publicity film has been preserved in the Archives of the
Republic of Slovenia. It was made in the year 1933 in the studio of Božidar Jakac in Ljubljana and it
can be considered as the first preserved Slovene publicityfashion film.
