Slovenian contacts with the Holy Land must be regarded as part of the broader context of Slovenian-Jewish relations. They are dealt with chronologically from the 11 century to the end of the Middle Ages and the beginning of Modern Era, as well as thematically and typologically, (participants of the crusades, pilgrims), in connection with the ideas of the Jews of Maribor about their return to the Holy Land, with respect of the impact of these relations upon our traffic network (pilgrims roads, hospices), economy (landed property of the knight orders, financing pilgrims expeditions and the crusades), geographical literature (guides) and art (relics, chapels of the Holy Sépulcre).

      • V širšo problematiko slovensko-judovskih odnosov lahko uvrstimo tudi naše srednjeveške stike s Sveto deželo. Ti so prikazani kronološko od 11. stoletja do konca srednjega in začetka novega veka. Razvrščeni so tematsko ali tipološko, tako da obsegajo udeležence križarskih vojn, romarje, spokornike, odnos mariborskih Judov do povratka v Sveto deželo in izraz teh stikov v naši prometni mreži (romarske poti, hospici), ekonomiji (posesti viteških redov, financiranje romarsko-križarskih odprav), geografski literaturi (popotni vodniki) in umetnosti (relikvije, kapele božjega groba).
