Description

Visiting cinematographic presentations was a popular form of recreation of the Maribor inhabitants. Grajski kino, Mestni kino (cinema Apolo as of 1925), kino Union and Esplanade enthused visitors by their programme, where light comedies dominated. The cause is to found in the composition of the inhabitants, as well as in the infleunce of Germans upon the formation of cinema taste and the knowledge of both languages by the majority of inhabitants of the then Maribor. German film gained influence particularly after 1930, when sound films were begun to presented in Maribor. Beside numerous German films, visitors could see also films from other cinematic national productions.

      • Priljubljena oblika zabave mariborskega prebivalstva je bil obisk kinopredstav. Grajski kino, Mestni kino (od l. 1925 kino Apolo), kino Union in Esplanado so navduševali obiskovalce s sporedom, kjer so prevladovale lahkotne komedije. Poleg številnih nemških filmov so si obiskovalci lahko ogledali še filme drugih narodov.
