The author deals with secular country and dynastic offices, functions and military services viz. participations, as factors of noblemen career - patterns in the period roughly between 1200 and 1400. He finds that they were occupied by Carinthian and Lower Styrian noblemen, foreigners and bourgeois. The objective of the research is to establish the link between social statua of the individual, his family and relatives, on the one hand, and the type of service, on the other. By way of graphs, an attempt of quantitative assessment of the position of individuals and familes, as well as of their changes in the attempts to earn salaries, achievecareer-patterns and status in general, is made.
