The favourable position of the territory of Hoče attracted people already in the neolithic era, in the 10th century were established Pohorski dvor — the first residence of the frontier-counts of PodravJe, the Michael's church of Razvanje, one of the first churches of the Middle Ages in Slovenia, and Betnava.
