Description

In the time of Heinrich II, Count of Gorizia, some members of the Eberstein noble family from

Carinthia settled in Gorizia and especially Vipolže (Vipulzano/Wippelsach). The aim of the article is to

shed light on how this came about, to complete the list of the owners of the Vipolže manor and fief in

the fourteenth century, and to recommit the Ebersteins’ name to the historical memory of this place in

the Goriška Brda (“Gorizia Hills”), after it has long remained in the shadow of the Herberstein family

due to the similarity in their names.

      • V času goriškega grofa Henrika II. so se nekateri člani koroške plemiške rodbine Eberstein ustalili na Goriškem in prav posebej v Vipolžah. Namen tega prispevka je osvetliti način, kako je do tega prišlo, dopolniti sliko imetnikov gradu in fevda Vipolže v 14. stoletju ter v zgodovinski spomin tega briškega kraja vrniti ime Ebersteinov, ki jih je zaradi podobnosti imena prekrivala dolga senca družine Herberstein.
