The Laibacher Wochenblatt zum Nutzen und Vergnügen (Ljubljana Weekly for Benefit and Amusement) was a supplement of the official Laibacher Zeitung newspaper. It had been published for twelve years, 1804-1810, and 1814-1818. It was abolished during the period of the Illyrian Provinces, together with the Laibacher Zeitung, or the Ljubljančanka, as it had been popularly nicknamed. Instead of political reports, the newspaper published historic and ethnographic articles, biographies of prominent personalities from the Kranjsko area, book and theatre reviews, and articles on economy, medicine, fashion, etc. The paper looks at editorial policy of the newspaper, its creators, and discusses its impact on the area of Kranjsko.
