Museum is an institution that portrays human development and presents it to the public. It is also an educational institution that should closely work with schools. The museum, whose rich material can greatly contribute to instruction, serves didactic as well as pedagogical and psychological purposes. A visit to a museum is an interesting learning experience for students, it adds to their knowledge and helps to develop their cognitive processes. Teaching history with the help of museum activities presents numerous opportunities for emphasizing different values.

      • Muzej predstavlja institucijo, ki je v službi človeške družbe in njenega razvoja. Muzej pa predstavlja tudi vzgojno-izobraževalno ustanovo, ki bi morala biti tesno povezana s šolami. Bogat zgodovinski material je pri posredovanju zgodovinskih spoznanj tudi izredno uspešno učno sredstvo. Koristi za pouk so tako didaktične kakor tudi pedagoške in psihološke. Ogled muzejskih zbirk povečuje interes in aktivnost učencev, povečuje njihovo znanje in razvija umske sposobnosti. Obravnavanje zgodovinske snovi s pomočjo muzeja pa nudi tudi obilo možnosti za poudarjanje vzgojnih vrednot.
