Description
In his contribution, the author describes the development of libraries (except school ones) in the region of the administrative unit of Lenart. We find the first origins of libraries at aristocratic castles and manors; public libraries developed in a larger extent not earlier than at the end of the 19th century with the establishing of the so-called reading societies. The author ascertains that the turn from the 19th to the 20th century was the height of their activity. After the end of World War I, libraries were even more ideologically profiled. World War II and the changed circumstances after it violently interrupted their development.

- V prispevku avtor oriše razvoj knjižnic (razen šolskih) na območju upravne enote Lenart. Prve zametke knjižnic lahko najdemo na plemiških gradovih in dvorcih, javne knjižnice pa so se v večjem obsegu razvile šele konec 19. stoletja z ustanovitvijo t. i. bralnih društev. Avtor tudi ugotavlja, da je pomenil prehod iz 19. v 20. stoletje vrhunec njihovega delovanja, knjižnice pa so se po koncu prve svetovne vojne še bolj ideološko profilirale. Njihov razvoj je nasilno prekinil začetek druge svetovne vojne in spremenjene razmere po njej.
