Description
The collection of carpets at the Brdo castle is the largest public collection of hand-knotted Oriental carpets on Slovene territory. Over one hundred carpets are treated by provenience (mainly Persia, Turkmenia and Turkey), dating (19th century and the beginning of the 20th century), applied techniques and motifs. Reviewed are their physical state and setting. Some most typical makes are introduced separately.

      • Zbirka preprog na gradu Brdo je največja javna zbirka na roke vozlanih orientalskih preprog na Slovenskem. Več kot sto preprog je obdelanih po provenienci (zvečine Perzija, Turkmenija in Turčija), dataciji (19. stoletje in začetek 20. stoletja), uporabljenih tehnikah in motiviki. Kritično sta obravnavana njihovo fizično stanje in postavitev. Posebej je predstavljenih nekaj najznačilnejših izdelkov.
