The author's goal is to enlighten on the basis of notes in valuation elaborates of the Franciscan cadastre the peasant life and economic circumstances in the first half of the 19th century in cadastral communities of Predoslje, Kokrica and Kokra where the Brdo seigneury had its dominical land. The keepers of the notes described the peasant population as industrious. A comparison with some other parts of Carniola shows that the Carniolians lived in the 19th century equally well or equally poor as elsewhere.
