In the present article the tinkers’ trade in Maribor is discussed, mainly the activity of the Caminolli family of tinkers. A scarce knowledge about tin-plate workers from the 17th century Maribor can be enlarged by the establishment of the master’s sigh of Matej Weisshaubt, dating from 1639. With the help of this sign it is going to be easier to discover and define Weisshaubt’s works. The Caminolli family, which gave five tin-plate masters, settled down in Maribor in the twenties of the 18th century. There has been preserved a small number of tin-plate objects which were made by this family, and it has been possible to define the activity of different masters and to trace it until the 1930’ies, on the basis of the archives materials.
