The article deals with major characteristics of the population in the Ig region from the year 1775 to
1825 Presented and analysed are basic statistical data on number of births, marriages and deaths that
were acquired from the register books. Presented are beside the mentioned data on parents, godparents,
names of children, diseases and average length of life.
The life of the then rural population was strongIy connected with nature and its annual cycles. That
reflects in monthly variation of births as well as of maniages and deaths. As a whole the demographic
course was a good deal constant as we do not sense considerable leaps or falIs.

- Članek se ukvarja z glavnimi značilnostmi prebivalstva na Ižanskem v letih med 1775 in 1825 Predstavljeni in analizirani so osnovni statistični podatki o številu rojstev porok in smrti ki so bili dobljeni iz matičnih knjig. Poleg njih so obdelani še podatki o starših in botrih imenih otrok boleznih ter povprečni življenjski dobi. Življenje takratnega podeželskega prebivalstva je bilo močno povezano z naravo in njenimi letnimi cikli. To se odraža tako v mesečnem gibanju rojstev, kot tudi porok in smrti. V celoti je bilo demografsko gibanje dokaj konstantno, saj ne zaznamo občutnejših skokov in padcev.
