Description
This contribution explores the events, concerning children-refugees from Greece, mainly form Aegean Macedonia, who between 1948 and 1952 found sanctuary from »monarchofascist violence« or civil war in Greece in Slovenia with the help of the Yugoslav Red Cross. It draws on the resources held by the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia (Slovenian Red Cross), documentary movies on Yutube, discussions on web pages and forums as literature about those events is still rare. In conclusion, the article turns to the world of today and the situation of the »unaccompanied youth« in Slovenia and is looking for some comparisons between past and present.
