Dr. Milan Ževart, retired Full Professor of the Pedagogical Faculty in Maribor and former Director of the Museum of National Liberation, was born April, 16,1927 in Podkraj by Velenje. He graduated in history and geography at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana in 1952. Until 1956 he was a teacher at a grammar school in Maribor; from then on he worked in the museum (until 1991). From 1960 he also was a professor of contemporary history at the Pedagogical Faculty in Maribor. The emphasis of the representation is on Dr. Ževart's activities in the museum and historiography, especially in the period following 1987. His work in historiography is focused on the period of WW II and on the area of Slovenian Styria and Carinthia.

      • Dr. Milan Ževart, upokojeni redni profesor na Pedagoški fakulteti v Mariboru in direktor Muzeja narodne osvoboditve, je bil rojen 16.4.1927 v Podkraju pri Velenju. Na Filozofski fakulteti v Ljubljani je 1952 diplomiral iz zgodovine in geografije. Do leta 1956 je poučeval na mariborski klasični gimnaziji, potem pa je do upokojitve 1991 delal v muzeju. Od leta 1960je predaval novejšo zgodovino na Pedagoški fakulteti v Mariboru. Poudarek prikaza je na Ževartovem muzejskem in zgodovinopisnem delovanju, zlasti v obdobju po letu 1987. Težišče njegovega zgodovinopisnega dela je v obdobju 2. svetovne vojne in na področju slovenske Štajerske ter Koroške.
