Dr. Milan Ževart, retired Full Professor of the Pedagogical Faculty in Maribor and former Director of the Museum of National Liberation, was born April, 16,1927 in Podkraj by Velenje. He graduated in history and geography at the Faculty of Arts in Ljubljana in 1952. Until 1956 he was a teacher at a grammar school in Maribor; from then on he worked in the museum (until 1991). From 1960 he also was a professor of contemporary history at the Pedagogical Faculty in Maribor. The emphasis of the representation is on Dr. Ževart's activities in the museum and historiography, especially in the period following 1987. His work in historiography is focused on the period of WW II and on the area of Slovenian Styria and Carinthia.
