V. Murko (4. 3. 1906 — 11. 12. 1986), the recognlzed financial expert, was quite interested in historiography too. First he studied the history of economy and finance, at a ripe old age, however, he gave himself up to studying the Slovene cultural and scientific history with emphasis on the contribution of old Slovene scientists (until 1800) to the European culture. He perfectly treated the life and work of Josip Ressel. In his treatises he also dealt with history of natural sciences. In addition to the survey and estimation of Murko's historical work there is also the bibliography of his 91 works dealing with historical themes.
